Thanks for stopping by to get to know me!
I grew up in the suburbs of Richmond, Va. and will forever call Virginia home. But right now, I’m living in the City of Oaks (aka Raleigh).
For as long as I can remember I’ve been writing in notebooks. I always seemed to have one with me. My parents noticed this and at a young age I was given my dad’s old typewriter and began writing constantly. Soon I was writing short stories, poems and letters. I’ve always said I wanted to be a writer when I grew up and I’m fortunate to have made that a reality after graduating from James Madison University.
A few of my favorite things
- The ocean: The first time my little toddler toes ever touched a sandy beach, I ran straight for the ocean and never looked back… and I’ve been that way ever since. The ocean is where my heart belongs.
- James Madison University: Better known as “the happiest place on earth” after spending four years in the Shenandoah Valley, I learned how to fall in love with the mountains and the wonderful people at JMU.
- Pugs: I’m crazy obsessed and patiently, patiently waiting until I can get my own little pug puppy (and yes, I already have a name picked out- ask me about it!)
- Gluten free anything: I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease at the age of 20 and have been gluten free ever since. Give me ALL the gluten free recipes!
- Yoga: I was introduced to yoga as a teenager by my mom and decided to make it a regular part of my life by practicing #yogaeverydamnday.
- Lighthouses: My grandmother absolutely loved lighthouses and she became my metaphorical lighthouse, always providing navigational guidance and light in my life.
- Tacos & tequila: I think I have turned down Mexican food once in my life. I could eat tacos and drink margaritas for the rest of my life and be happy.
